# Are there issues with Dremio Connector and Text/String Data?

is there any known issue with dremio connector/driver for text/string data?

when I am executing basic query just select 1 as col

SELECT \*  
FROM OPENQUERY([server\_dal], ‘SELECT 1 as COL FROM DREMIO.“INFORMATION\_SCHEMA”.“TABLES”’)

It’s working. but same query when I am using select ‘a’ as col…

SELECT \*  
FROM OPENQUERY([server\_dal], ‘SELECT ‘‘A’’ as COL FROM DREMIO.“INFORMATION\_SCHEMA”.“TABLES”’)

the following is not working and throwing error:

"OLE DB provider “MSDASQL” for linked server “SERVER\_DAL” returned message “Requested conversion is not supported.”.  
Msg 7341, Level 16, State 2, Line 10  
Cannot get the current row value of column “[MSDASQL].COL” from OLE DB provider “MSDASQL” for linked server “SERVER\_DAL”. "
