Hi, new to Dremio and testing things out. Seems pretty cool so far. I’ve tried several setups with docker, but I’m running on windows and would prefer not to use docker. I found an exe…
and I downloaded and installed the [dremio-community-LATEST.exe](https://download.dremio.com/community-server/dremio-community-LATEST.exe)

Everything seems to be running fine, but I’m a little confused on backup and restore process.
Using wsl, i ran ./dremio-admin backup with user/pw and mnt directory, but received error ‘Error: Could not find or load main class Files.Dremio.lib
Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: Files.Dremio.lib’
How would you recommend backup and restoring on windows?

Thanks,
Neil

@ngodfrey What version of Dremio is this? Dremio on Windows was removed many versions back.

I don’t know. I found it here… [Index of community-server/](https://download.dremio.com/community-server/)
So if windows isn’t maintained anymore, I’m assuming docker the recommended way? Is there a video of the back up and restore process with docker somewhere?

@ngodfrey When you say docker, can you use Kubernetes based Docker?

No, docker installed on WSL would be ideal.

@ngodfrey Backup will only work when Dremio is up and running. Just want to make sure, you did not bring down the docker instance and then tried the backup
