# How to reset the password in windows

I could find the document "reset the password " In dremio docs page, but it’s for Linux environment. I need the document for the windows environment.  
Dremio version is 1.2.1, Thanks,

Hello,

I fresh installed the dremio 1.2.1, but could not setup the the password.

Hello,

Yes, I had a same problem even after fresh install Dremio 1.3.  
Pls let me know how to remove the dremio in my PC to delete the userid and  
password information.

Hi @heungjae

Here is what you need to do

Step 1: Uninstall Dremio - Should be under "C:\Program Files\Dremio"  
Step 2: Delete the Dremio folder that stores the metadata information - Should be under “C:\Users\<username\>r\AppData\Local\Dremio” - This might be hidden so might have to so “Show Hidden Files and Folders” on Windows  
Step 3: Reinstall Dremio

It should not ask for fresh username/password registration
