# JDBC property for flattening complex types to a string?

For client applications that cannot handle complex types, does there exist a JDBC connection property for Dremio to flatten complex types to a string?

@Justin_Gossett Complex types LIST/ARRAY can be flattened using Dremio’s SQL flatten or UI option unnest. when you say JDBC property do you mean as part of connect string or you are looking for the SQL?

You can use FLATTEN from a JDBC tool as part of your SQL
