Hi,

I am using Dremio to analyze and prep some data formations from a local directory "C:\data. At the moment the work is being done on my local machine. Would it be possible to export and transfer the work to someone else’s machine or a server running Dremio?

Thanks
Chris

Hi @Chris_du_Toit,

If it is the same version on the target server, you can try the backup and restore

[Backup](https://docs.dremio.com/advanced-administration/backup.html)

And

[Restore](https://docs.dremio.com/advanced-administration/restore.html)

Thanks,
@balaji.ramaswamy

I’m not able to run the backup command in a Windows environment. Is it only available in Linux?

@andrewsc32 this is currently not supported on Windows.

As a workaround, you can copy/backup all folders located under `C:\Users\<USER_NAME>\AppData\Local\Dremio`. On Windows, Dremio is configured to look for this path for metadata by default.
