Does the tarball installation work on Solaris or are the Linux-specific dependencies in the software?

It should work. However, we don’t regularly test Solaris yet.

I tried it myself and got an error message that Arrow only runs on Little Endian systems. Pitty.

That’s something we’re working on with the Arrow community and will take a while.
