Apache Polaris hits 1.0!
We’re excited to share that Apache Polaris, the open metadata catalog purpose-built for Apache Iceberg, has officially reached its 1.0 release.
Designed for both vendor-managed and self-managed deployments, Polaris gives you a standards-based, open alternative to proprietary catalogs. It’s built to support AI-ready data, hybrid architectures, and fully interoperable governance across your lakehouse ecosystem.
This milestone reflects the incredible work of the Apache community—including major contributions from Dremio and Snowflake—and marks Polaris as a production-grade metadata catalog for modern Iceberg lakehouses.
