Dremio Enterprise Edition - LDAP Authentication issue

We’ve run into an issue using Dremio Enterprise Edition with LDAP authentication. Most of our pilot users are able to login fine, but a subset are unable to login with their AD login credentials. Investigating these problem accounts shows that the CN in AD is in (Lastname, Firstname) format. We’ve tried different input strings to put a correct CN value for LDAP authentication without any luck.

Are there any workarounds for this account issue? Will Dremio support the (userIdAttribute=“sAMAccountName”) directive to pull the users login name rather than CN for AD authentication?

Unfortunately there are no workarounds.

The ability to configure “sAMAccountName” (or other attributes) as the login attribute will be part of the next release (1.4.0)!
