Parsing fixed width text files

I am trying to parse some fixed width text files. This means the files contain field A in positions 1-16, field B in position 17-18, etc.

From what I can tell, when pointing Dremio community edition to these files, there is no way to parse them.

Is there any plan or workaround to support parsing of fixed width files going forward?

Hi Jerry,

There are no current plans to address parsing fixed width text files; only by using delimiters for now. I will open a request and we can track interest/demand for this over time. Thx.
