Fixed Length file reader support

Hi,

I’m trying to load files which are

  • compressed (e.g. gz, snappy, …), and
  • fixed length fields (rather then csv)

am I right to assume that the community edition is not supporting these options? Meaning I’ll have to uncompress and convert to csv my files first.

You shouldn’t need to decompress your files, but currently Dremio does not support fixed length field formats.

Hi,

has something changed since Aug '18? Are fixed width files by now supported? Is there any specific reason why that is? Assuming I’d like to give it a try, any suggestion where I should start?
