Relection too expensive?

I have 2 reflections on the same VDS. Ref#1
is a Raw Reflection (1.81MB) with all columns selected and Ref#2 (390KB) is a Raw Reflection with a subset of the columns selected. We have a query that uses all of the columns in Ref#2 but Ref#1 is selected for that query with Ref#2 being deemed too expensive. Can you explain why this might happen?
