Sorting by clicking on a column produces incorrect results

When you sort by clicking on a column it only sorts a subset of the data in the dataset. You have to click “Run” in order to get the correct result.

Yes that is the intended behavior, preview is just a quick look at a subset of the result set and if you want the right sort by clicking the column, please use run

The button was in the “Run” mode though. So, that’s confusing.

Sorry about the confusion, Did you do the below?

Preview dataset
Click on Sort
Click on Run

Result is not right

Clicked on Run again

Result is right?

Not quite…

Preview dataset (wishes this was more optional)
Click on Run (now run shows on the button)
Click on Column Sort
Result is not right
Click on Run again
Result is right…

That’s the correct behavior … though I agree it is confusing. :slight_smile:

Yep, I figured. But I think if the button shows “Run” it should run queries, not preview them. It basically means any sort is a two click process. Confusing, and pretty quickly annoying.
