Unable to install Dremio community on Windows 10

Hello!

I’m not able to access the stand-alone version of Dremio. I’ve installed the last version of Dremio from Index of community-server/ and the 64-bit Java Development Kit version 1.8. When I run “java -version” in my cmd I obtain this:

java version “1.8.0_301”
Java™ SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_301-b09)
Java HotSpot™ 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.301-b09, mixed mode)

When I start Dremio I receive the message “Dremio is unable to start”.

Moreover, I can’t find the server.log file. In this path : C:\Users\marta.regolo\AppData\Local\Dremio, I can just find the log folder and inside a file app0.log.

Can anyone help me? I’m quite new to Dremio and I’m not even able to access the app.

@martareg Dremio on Windows is no longer available, which version is this?

Hi @balaji.ramaswamy! Thank you very much for your answer! I was trying to install the standalone version, and indeed I realized is a very old one (3.3.2). Now I managed to install Dremio through a Docker container on Windows

Docker is indeed the best way to do it. You just need to remember to set the necessary volumes definitions to ensure the settings and definitions persist.
